Lobby day: 11:00-17:00
Event in the Attlee Suite: 14:00-17:00
We want hundreds of social care workers, providers and those who draw on social care to gather in Westminster to lobby MPs and Peers on Tuesday 19th July. We hope you can join us.
The FSCC SOCIAL CARE LOBBY DAY will highlight the lack of capacity in the social care system and the fact that, even before the pandemic and the cost of living crisis hit, there were circa 110,000 vacancies in social care and now the gap is even deeper. Some estimate that there are now up to 150,000 vacancies in social care. It is time to call on the Government to take immediate action and time for a fair deal for social care workers.
Disabled people are being ignored, discriminated against and dying at an iniquitous rate. This is another aspect of the process.
Again, NaCSILS does not focus on children’s care – but, again, this analysis is so similar to ours on adult care and support that we felt we have to share it.
NaCSILS focuses on adult social care, but we felt this news item had to be shared, because the same issue bedevils providers in adult social care, too.
Another example of routine discrimination. The social model of disability at work.
